The ISRA International Journal of Islamic Finance (IJIF) is a fully peer-reviewed refereed journal which aims at academics, researchers and practitioners within the areas of Islamic economics, banking and finance and its related fields (Islamic capital markets, Islamic social finance, takāful (Islamic insurance) and Islamic financial law). The Journal does not publish articles of a general Islamic nature, or conventional finance-related articles, or Muslim/Muslim countries-related areas of study. For articles within the area of Islamic law to be considered within the scope of the Journal, the discussion should relate to Islamic finance and not merely represent independent discussions of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and usul ul fiqh (sources of Islamic jurisprudence).

IJIF aims to publish original research articles of academic rigour as well as articles by practitioners with experience in applied Islamic finance.

It is the aspiration of the editorial committee that IJIF achieves the highest rank in quality and substance. Thus, we aim for the Journal to be carried in the Web of Science Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and raises in ranking within the Scopus database. By ensuring high standards in articles published in Islamic finance we ensure that further innovation and research is carried out and promoted in the Islamic finance industry and academia.
